This event brought together 12 ambitious, inspiring and legendary members of Montreal's business community to share their shining moments with over 120 attendees. YES CLIENT OF THE MONTH: NICOLAS MUNOZ

Nicolas Munoz was born in Bogota, Colombia and 13 years ago he moved to Montreal where he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Concordia University with a specialization in Computation Arts. His career and studies have taken him on a journey through new media, game localization, project management and video game development.

"When I first got involved with YES, I was suffering from situational depression. I wanted to switch career paths, but I wasn't finding any opportunities," Nicolas says. "I consider myself to be a very cheerful person, but not having a steady income was starting to affect my personal life."

Nicolas began seeing a YES Career Counsellor and participated in the Job Seekers Focus Group, an initiative that helps young people overcome barriers related to their job search.

"These programs motivated me and gave me the structure I needed for my job search," he continues. "I also attended Group Coaching Sessions for Artists and Entrepreneurship Workshops which opened me up to a whole new range of career possibilities and introduced me to people with different and stimulating perspectives.¨
Nicolas now works as a Project Coordinator at IC Axon, a company that develops e-learning solutions for medical companies.

He enjoys being in the middle of the production team and every day he interacts with graphic designers, illustrators, programmers and writers. In his spare time, Nicolas continues to pursue his passion for art and music by creating video games with several close collaborators.

"I believe that YES was instrumental in getting me back on my feet during my career transition and I am very thankful for their support and guidance.”

Congratulations Nicolas!
