MEET OUR CLIENT OF THE MONTH: CINDY LOPEZ

Cindy Lopez
www.cindylopezphotography.com

Cindy Lopez is a Montreal based photographer who specializes in media, live events and festivals. She currently photographs for Cult MTL, a media publication that focuses on stories and events in Montreal. Her previous work can be found in The Concordian, ChartATTACK.com, Midnight Poutine and other Montreal publications. She has photographed for The Montreal Fringe Festival, Festival Bouge D'Ici and POP Montreal as well as weddings, sporting events and live performances in and around Montreal.

Cindy studied photography at Dawson College and was first introduced to YES when she was at Concordia University completing a B.A. in Creative Writing.  After embarking on a freelance career in photography and realizing that the work is not consistent, she began to re-evaluate her career path and has been working with YES Career Advisor Stephanie Zacharkiw to develop a personal career strategy and plan, with the goal of working in social media consulting.
She has also started working with YES Artist Program Coordinator, Marie-Michele Fillion, to develop new strategies to promote her photography and took advantage of the Business Boot Camp program to lay out a business plan.

The future for Cindy? The sky is the limit.

“I want to continue freelancing for publications, however I would like to pursue other opportunities such as sports and more portraiture as well as assignment work outside Montreal."

Cindy thanks YES with special mentions to Stephanie and Marie-Michele for their guidance and for helping her find the confidence to take her career to the next level.
