CLIENT OF THE MONTH: NATHON KONG

Originally from Thailand and based in Montreal since 2003, Nathon Kong graduated from McGill University in Microbiology and has an MBA from the University of Ottawa. Prior to launching his business, he worked for many years in the Healthcare and Pharmaceutical Industries as a business analyst, consultant, project manager and in business development.

Nathon knows that there is no guarantee in the world of start-ups; it is all about being comfortable with the unknown, learning from your mistakes, willing to accept failures and confronting your fears. YES not only taught him the practical and technical skills needed to launch a business through the evening workshops he attended, but it was at the 17th Annual YES Entrepreneurship Conference where he was further inspired to launch his own business.
TAILOR2GO by Nathon Kong Tailor Inc., is an award-winning,  innovative mobile, solar-powered tailor truck service that uses 3D Body Scanning. TAILOR2GO comes to your work, where you can order custom outerwear and offers a one-of-a-kind, personalized experience.

“I have to especially thank Augusto Sotelo, the most incredible, dedicated Business Coach,” Nathon says. “We worked on the business plan together for TAILOR2GO which resulted in receiving financing from Futurpreneur”.

“I would like to also thank YES Mentorship Coordinator, Kelsey White who exhibited a high level of professionalism and last but not the least Laurie Mosse, my YES Mentor, who took a personal interest in my project and helped me to find the best solution for my problems.” Nathon continues.  “With their help and that of YES, I would not have made it this far.”

Earlier this month, Nathon won 1st  place at Le Concours Quebecois en entrepreneuriat-Montreal Region and garnered the top prize for the Dobson Cup, McGill University’s Start-up Competition.

Congratulations, Nathon!
