LOOKING FOR WORK OR A CAREER CHANGE? WE CAN HELP!

FIND OUT HOW GUYLAINE BEAUCHEMIN IMPROVED HER BUSINESS WITH THE HELP OF YES

Guylaine Beauchemin is an entrepreneur based in Laval, Quebec whose calling came in 2016, after running three dance studios and directing a non-profit organization. She launched two successful crowdfunding campaigns which gave her the idea to start her own business, Makers de Rêves, a crowdfunding academy where entrepreneurs are taught how to create their own campaigns.

Guylaine sought out our Business Coaching services through one of our regional visits to Laval to get help with her business model, more specifically, the pricing and promotion of her services.

“It’s not the first time that I started a business, but it always feels like the first time”, she said. "
Each business is different and when I first started with Makers de Rêves, my confidence was low.”

Guylaine met regularly with her YES business coach and soon enough, she adopted the strategy she needed to set her prices, and along with that, boost her self-worth.  “My business coach told me to be more aggressive in my approach to social media and with customers,” Guylaine says. “And not to be afraid of losing what I don't have yet.”  The results are in and with our help, Guylaine’s business is now attracting more customers and gaining the attention of sponsors and potential investors from across the city.

Guylaine’s next steps are to gain more visibility, create her own crowdfunding platform and be known as a crowdfunding influencer through further development of her web tv productions for entrepreneurs. Stay tuned!

IN MEMORIAM: YES MENTOR PAUL WILLIAM ROBERTS

We were saddened to learn about the sudden passing of one of our volunteers, Paul William Roberts, on May 17th, 2019.

An acclaimed author of both fiction and non-fiction works, including his bestselling travel narrative Journey of The Magi: Travels In Search of The Birth of Jesus, Paul was also a literary journalist, a war correspondent and a TV producer for BBC, Citytv, and TVO.

Paul became involved with YES in 2016 as a mentor and provided invaluable insight and contributed greatly to the overall success of many of our Artist Program clients. It is a profound loss of a gifted man. Paul is survived by his wife, artist Kara Williams.
