Montreal QC – November 9, 2004 - The Canadian Youth Business Foundation (CYBF) and Youth Employment Services (YES) have established a partnership agreement to offer mentorship, learning resources and business start-up loans to aspiring young entrepreneurs aged 18-34 in Montreal and surrounding areas. YES will be joining the 45 existing CYBF sites across Canada serving 860 local communities.

“We are proud to initiate our partnership with YES in Montreal,” comments Vivian Woytiuk, CYBF CEO. “We have helped launch over 1000 businesses across Canada since 1996 and will continue to provide access to business start-up loans, mentorship and learning resources to empower aspiring young Canadians entrepreneurs.”

CYBF offers young entrepreneurs start-up financing up to $15,000 with the support of a business mentor. The business mentor increases the likelihood of the entrepreneur’s success through the transfer of experienced business knowledge. Training and support are provided for the mentoring relationship as well as
the young entrepreneur’s business.

“One of the obstacles that usually stands between a great business idea and its coming to fruition is funding,” states Iris Unger, Executive Director of YES. “Since it is a challenge for young people to obtain start-up financing, this program is a terrific opportunity for them to get access to this type of assistance.”

In addition to offering young entrepreneurs start-up loans of up to $15,000, YES also offers complimentary services to ensure their long-term success, including one-on-one business coaching services, a mentoring program and over 50 workshops for entrepreneurs on starting and growing a business.
