Youth Employment Services launches annual Holiday Job Campaign
Montreal, December 7, 2011: For hundreds of Montreal job-seekers and students, the chance to earn extra income over the holiday season will start with a trip to the Holiday Job Tree at Youth Employment Services (YES) in downtown Montreal.
The non-profit organization, which helps youth and young adults find jobs, announced today the launch of their annual Holiday Job Tree program. The initiative aims at offering University, CEGEP and high school students a quick, easy and free way to find temporary work during the holiday season.
Over 150 job openings from retailers such as The Bay, Ardène, American Apparel, Reitmans and Tommy Hilfiger are available. Companies that have posted jobs on the YES Holiday Job Tree are seeking to hire candidates for sales, customer service, cashier, warehouse and even managerial positions.
“Our Holiday Job Tree initiative not only helps students to connect with a variety of companies who are looking for additional help during the holiday season, but we also provide them with the resources and information they need to secure these jobs,” said Iris Unger, Executive Director of YES.
To help keep job seekers motivated, organized, and effective in their search for employment, YES offers free job search resources, workshops and career counselling services.
“I would also encourage anyone between the ages of 18 to 35 who is looking for a full-time job to come to one of our orientation sessions, meet with a counsellor and draft an action plan,” she adds.
The YES centre is open Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Students or businesses who require more information can contact YES at (514) 878-9788 or stop by the YES centre at 666 Sherbrooke Street West, Suite 700.
As a not-for-profit organization, YES Montreal (Youth Employment Services) enriches the community by providing English-language support services to help Quebecers find employment and start businesses. www.yesmontreal.ca
