YES CLIENT OF THE MONTH: JESSICA ZAVALA

With ten years of experience in Sales Management in the Automotive Industry, Jessica Zavala was confident in pursuing her professional career by starting a new life in Quebec. Born and raised in Mexico, Jessica’s academic background was in industrial engineering and, coupled with an MBA from HEC Montreal, providing her with more than just a head-start on accomplishing her goal. Less than three months later after she settled in Montreal during the fall of 2009, she landed her first job as an Internet Sales Supervisor at a car dealership. In addition, she had the opportunity to participate in the launch of the “Scion” brand, working for Toyota as a Regional Manager.

After concluding her contract with Toyota and after more than ten years working in the Automotive Industry, Jessica realized it was time for a change.
Shortly after making that crucial decision, she crossed paths with Silvina Asurmendi, a good friend and classmate from her MBA program and who is the Director of the Entrepreneurship Program at YES.  That connection brought Jessica to YES’ doorstep and with that, Jessica attended many of YES' workshops for both entrepreneurs and job seekersoffered at YES, and she participated in one-on-one counselling services.

"Thank you Silvina and Annalise (Director of YES’ Job Search Program), it will always be a YES for me when recommending your organization.” Jessica says. “It was a very enriching experience!"

Jessica is currently employed at Averna Technologies, a test-engineering company headquartered in Montreal, Canada and Atlanta, Georgia, as a key player in the pre-sales and solutions team.
