INSPIRATIONAL VIDEOS: DARE TO SAY YES, GO FOR IT AND PUSH FORWARD! |
|
On March 27th 2014, with the support from Status of Women Canada, YES held a networking event that featured speed interviews and networking with 21 companies in Montreal looking to hire women in technology.
The goal of the event was to promote women in technological roles and technology companies by allowing these qualified women to hone their interview skills, build valuable connections within the industry and ultimately develop their career aspirations!
Check out this video to hear thoughts from industry leaders on the importance of promoting technical careers and opportunities to women of all ages.

AN EASY WAY TO DONATE TO OUR CAUSE |

CLIENT OF THE MONTH: LARA CHAUVIN & ANTOINETTE ROMANO - EnviroARTWORK |

 |
EnviroARTWORX began when two stay at home moms, both living on the same street and possessing a wealth of experience in children’s education and arts & culture, decided to bring together their combined skills and provide “Environmentally-friendly crafts and culturally-stimulating arts” to the public.
Since winter 2013, the duo behind EnviroARTWORX, Lara Chauvin and Antoinette Romano have been effectively expanding their initiative, bringing a unique program that ties together environmental awareness, science, “out of the box” thinking” and branding to people ranging from students to adults. “Each participant works individually or in teams and dons their thinking caps both scientifically and creatively to make an almost edible, non-toxic professional-looking product that is safer than anything you may find in stores,” they said.
EnviroARTWORX has now grown to include ArtWORX (an imaginative trip around the world creating unique arts & crafts); CookWORX (naturally delicious foods that is not junk!); MamaWORX (for both mom & baby, so non-toxic you can almost eat it!) and other fascinating themes.

|
For the last year, both Lara and Antoinette have been using YES’ entrepreneurship services for strategic guidance with their business coach, Douglas Leahey. “With a positive demeanor, Douglas has been very accessible, open to listening and providing feedback when needed,” the duo said. The next step for the enterprising duo will be utilizing that expertise as well as the resources available at YES for grant applications, expansion steps and possible franchising.
“Just like a budding plant, EnviroARTWORX is expanding and soon we will be recruiting Assistant and Lead Animators to take on many more schools, libraries and possibly expand outside of Montreal!”
