ONLY A FEW WEEKS LEFT TO JOIN US IN OUR EFFORTS AND HELP US TO CONTINUE THE WORK THAT WE DO

Do you remember how it felt when you were looking to begin your career; certain that with hard work, dedication and the right support, your career vision could become a reality? As you know, the current economic climate has made finding employment for young people even more difficult than ever before. Are you fortunate enough to have a job or a place to go to work each day? If so, are you willing to pay it forward and help others to achieve that same dream?

When YES was founded 20 years ago, we helped about 120 job seekers; now, we help over 4,500 people per year and yet we are still unable to meet the demand!

We would love to be able to help everyone who comes through our doors, but we have limited funds. We do not want to turn people away and that is why we need your help.

With your donation, we can continue to offer valuable one-on-one counselling, business & artist coaching, access to career development workshops, pertinent and topical artists’ workshops, conferences, and much more. By providing a safe and inspiring environment at YES, our young people are better able to address the issues associated with unemployment and the challenges of finding lasting and meaningful jobs.

Let’s give our youth the chance to secure the rewarding employment they deserve.

We are asking you to join us in this effort by making a small donation to help at least one young person succeed.

YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. PLEASE GIVE TODAY.

WOMEN IN TECHNOLOGY - NETWORK NOW: CALL FOR COMPANIES

HOLD THE DATE: 17TH ANNUAL YES ENTREPRENEURSHIP CONFERENCE

CLIENT OF THE MONTH:BARBARA MARSHALL & CLAUDETTE DWYER
Barbara Marshall and Claudette Dwyer reached out to YES after forming a B2B marketing consultancy together. As well as attending some of the Women in Technology workshops, they signed up for business coaching and for the past four months have been working with Lamiaa Zaid on building their agency, Dwyer Marshall Marketing.

“I’m impressed with the range of services offered by YES,” says Barbara, who moved to Montreal from the UK five years ago while working in marketing for an international software company. “Running your own business is very different from working in a big organization – and YES provides access to practical advice.”

Montreal-native Claudette, whose background is in engineering, worked in the same international software company but two years ago reinvented herself as a web designer, which is when she first came across YES. “I had a really positive experience a couple of years ago and was eager to reconnect with YES for my joint venture with Barbara. Lamiaa is proving invaluable with her challenging questions and structured guidance. Not only that, she has introduced us to valuable business resources."

Combining their marketing and technical expertise, the pair formed Dwyer Marshall Marketing to provide global integrated B2B marketing services to Montreal-based media, entertainment & technology companies.

YES IN THE NEWS: HOW TO MARKET YOURSELF IN THE WORKPLACE
In this segment on Global Montreal's Morning Show, YES' Vice President, Jordan LeBel discusses job search facts and tips with host Richard Dagenais.

You have a job, your foot is in the door. But what you do once you’re in is even more important for your career. Jordan LeBel, who is also the Associate Professor of Marketing at John Molson School of Business, explains what steps you need to take to market yourself effectively.
