WE'VE LAUNCHED OUR ANNUAL FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN |
 |
In today’s economic climate, we all know that finding both secure and fulfilling work can be a challenging process and emotionally draining. This past year alone, 4,800 talented individuals walked through the doors of YES looking for career or business guidance to navigate through these rough waters.
Many of you may still be weathering this storm and we are here to help.
For those who have emerged on the other side and found clearer skies, please help us to help those who are still working towards that goal.
If you are in a position to make a pledge, a donation of any amount helps and we would greatly appreciate your support. Please join us in this effort by making a gift to help at least one more young person succeed.
YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

COMMUNITY TALKS EMPLOYMENT: MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD! |
 |
Each person experiences the path to employment differently
and we want to hear your story!
Over the next few months, we will be exploring, documenting and sharing
the voices of young people from across Quebec.
If you want to tell us about your experiences and help bring attention to youth employment issues, visit our video booth located at the YES Centre or at a regional partner's office near you.
You can also visit our website to find out how you can submit your own video.
New videos will be released every week.
The full playlist can be found on our YouTube page.
Click below to hear what youth are telling us about thier experiences looking for work.
Another way to get involved!
You can also make your voice heard by taking our online survey. We will use the information to create awareness about youth employment issues in the province and work toward improving employment services.

TAKE PART IN OUR SILVER LININGS VIDEO PROJECT |
Will you join us in our Silver Linings Video Project?
 |
We've embarked on an exciting project to develop a series of short videos that highlight people who have overcome professional setbacks and reinvented themselves for the better.
Have you experienced professional setbacks or other obstacles that have become steppingstones to later success?
Were there unexpected career changes you’d like to share that led you to new, better opportunities?
If so, we want to hear your story!
|
Send us a short description of a moment when you’ve had to handle a surprising career twist, how you coped and how you turned your setback into success. If your story fits our criteria, you may be selected to be part of the videos we’re putting together. Contributors must be willing to sit down for a video interview if their story is selected.
To submit your Silver Linings story, fill in the form by clicking here.
STAY TUNED: Next week we will launch our first video of the series.
Keep up to date on all our videos by subscribing to our YouTube page.

NEW HUMAN LIBRARY: TAP INTO THE WEALTH OF KNOWLEDGE OF OUR VOLUNTEERS |
|
MEET OUR CLIENT OF THE MONTH: CLAUDIA POULIN & DOMINIC DUBÉ |
 |
YES Regional Clients Claudia Poulin and Dominic Dubé launched Evive Smoothie in May 2015 and it all began from the basic premise that they loved smoothies but didn’t always have the time nor the organic ingredients on hand to make that ideal shake. Out of that simple need, Claudia and Dominic came up with the idea to sell the mixture pre-made and frozen into small, individual cubes. “That concept was really helpful for us, personally,” Claudia says. “And at that point, we quickly realized lots of people shared the desire for an organic and efficient alternative to what was already available in the market.”
Dominic had just finished his studies in Mechanical Engineering and Claudia was completing her Masters in Psychoeducation (both at Sherbrooke University), so the timing was perfect for them to turn their business idea into a reality. “The first thing we did was contact YES and take advantage of their Entrepreneurship Program,” Dominic says. “We sat down with our business coach Elizabeth Araujo. She helped us with our business plan and to connect with potential partners. She also referred us to be part of the Montreal Startup Challenge in which we secured a $10,000 Marketing campaign with MTL Blog!''. Dominic and Claudia have also made use of YES’ Human Library initiative and will be receiving mentorship services in the new year.
The mission behind Evive Smoothie is to offer high-quality food products that can be quickly and efficiently prepared. This allows people to eat organic, vegan and well-balanced food without taking time out of their busy schedules. “We genuinely think that good health starts with good nutrition and we want to change people’s lives by changing what they eat,” Claudia says. “Big THANKS to YES for helping us to reach our goals and dreams!”
Evive Smoothie's products are currently available in grocery stores in Sherbrooke and Magog and starting January 2016, they will be lining the shelves of select Montreal health food markets.
