MAKE A YEAR-END DONATION TO HELP AT LEAST ONE PERSON SUCCEED!

The Holiday Season is upon us and let’s not forget about the true spirit of the holidays - giving!  Make a charitable donation of any amount to YES and give a gift that offers hope and meaning to those struggling the most.

Your gift to YES is a direct investment in someone’s future - it provides a young person with the resources and motivation to lift themselves out of unemployment, an entrepreneur the opportunity to create a sustainable business, or an artist the chance to live comfortably off their work.

YES strives daily to ensure that more success stories are made possible. Stories like that of Abdul Rahman Bensalim.

Abdul Rahman Bensalim moved to Montreal from Halifax with a clear goal to learn French and land a job in the pharmaceutical industry. Being fresh out of school, with a degree in Biology, Abdul started his journey in Montreal by studying French and getting involved in as many meet-ups and events as he could, which is where he heard about YES.

“Before going to YES, I would spend hours tirelessly applying for jobs on websites, my LinkedIn profile was inconsistent, and my professional attire was mediocre. I was lost and confused, and going nowhere.”
Once he began his one-on-one job coaching sessions, Abdul overcame his obstacles: his résumé, LinkedIn profile, cover letter, professional attire, phone and in-person interview skills, networking strategy, and job research techniques were all improved and, most importantly, his morale was boosted.

After three interviews, Abdul was hired at Medisca as a Customer Service Representative.

“Not only did the people that I interacted with at YES really care about me, but everyone there did. That type of support is absolutely priceless. The pharmaceutical industry is a challenging industry to navigate and also a really exciting one to be a part of. I’m really enjoying my job! I’m always learning new things, forging new relationships and working on building an awesome career!”
Our campaign goal is to reach $40,000 by March 31st 2019.

We are asking you to join us in this effort by making a gift to help at least one young person succeed.

YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. EVERY DONATION HAS A BIG IMPACT.

PLEASE GIVE TODAY.

FIND OUT HOW MAÏTÉ LAJIC ACHIEVED HER GOALS WITH THE HELP OF YES

Born and raised in France, Maïté Lajic is an established cartoonist, drawing mainly for children and the teen/tween market, and has been published in Europe, Italy and the United States. In 2007, she moved to Montreal along with her family to begin a new page in her life. After drawing for 12 years, facing declining royalties and not satisfied with the marketing that was being done around her publications, she decided to take control of her career and become an entrepreneur.

“I knew nothing about how to reach my public, or how to sell or market my books,” Maïté says. “I wanted to take charge of my career, but I didn’t know where to start.” She came across YES and signed up for the Artist Program and Business Bootcamp.

“Attending these workshops allowed me to develop a clearer vision of where I wanted to go with my work,” she says. “I set up a strategy to achieve my goals and decided to meet a coach once a month to get feedback on the decisions I've made and strategies I put in place.”

With the help of the YES Artist Coach, Maïté spent 17 months building her audience and preparing for her next step. The result:  this past October, she launched her first crowdfunding campaign raising more than $27,000 and enabling her to increase her profits by securing pre-sales of her latest book. In doing so, she increased her royalties by 25%.

Her next step? “My next step is to finish the book that has been funded and deliver it to my readers on time.” Not to rest on her laurels, Maïté’s future plans consists of working on her next book and sharing it with her audience via her newsletter: “La Lettre Dessinée.” (available only in French).
