FIND OUT HOW PASCAL VAN WYNENDAELE FOUND HIS DREAM JOB WITH THE HELP OF YES

After spending most of his life in Europe, Pascal Van Wynendaele relocated to North America in 2011. Armed with two Masters’ degrees: one in Computer Science and another in Management, he worked in telecommunications at companies in Chicago and Ottawa, then in 2018, Pascal moved to Montreal to work at a Blockchain tech startup. Soon after, Pascal decided to branch out and pursue a career in fintech, an industry that provides technological solutions to companies and organizations.

He came to YES because, at the time, fintech was a niche industry and even with his two master degrees and his wealth of experience, Pascal recognized that his opportunities were limited. Once he began working with YES, he heard over and over how important networking was and how meeting other professionals could help him learn about the local fintech hiring landscape. He jumped at the opportunity when YES offered him a chance to participate in Network Now back in February; an event that brought job seekers together with local employers and gave him the chance to meet one-on-one with HR reps in finance and tech.

“YES is not just a place that helps you find a job, but gives you tips and tricks on how to find the job of your dreams,” Pascal says.  "Meetings with my job search counsellor helped me sharpen my résumé and networking skills but most importantly, kept me focused and motivated!”

With our help, Pascal secured a Fellow & Community Outreach position at a local fintech incubator.  “It was through a lot of hard work, determination and help from YES, that I was able to achieve my goal of working in fintech in Montreal,” Pascal says. “Thank you YES!”
